Our verdict

Update, October 2026: the Vertex 05 2027 is now on sale. Padel Market lists the same diamond shape, weight, carbon and core, with a more moderate balance. This review covers the 2026 version, which shops now often discount.

The Vertex 05 is Juan Tello's 2026 racket: a high-balance diamond of 365–375 g with an Xtend Carbon 12K face and a MultiEVA core, and Bullpadel lists its touch as Intermediate. It's built for attackers, with a strong smash and a firm, stable feel at the net.

On our stats it's the most forgiving of the pro diamonds we track (sweet spot 4 and comfort 5 out of 10), and last year's Vertex 04 is often discounted. It needs good technique. Players who are still learning, or who mostly defend, will find it unforgiving.

Best for: advanced attackers, and strong intermediates with sound technique, who finish points overhead.

Avoid if: you play a patient, defensive game or you're still learning.

Good

  • Tour-level power from a high-balance diamond
  • Proven line, updated every year

Less good

  • Demanding on technique
  • Small sweet spot

The 2026 model

The 05 refines the Vertex 04 rather than replacing it. According to retailer breakdowns, Bullpadel widened and reinforced the core, extended the frame's CurvAktiv twist, used a more open carbon weave and cut the weight positions from five to four. The result is described as faster and more reactive. Full details are in Vertex 04 vs Vertex 05.

What independent reviewers say

Padelful

  • Praises the smash, firm and stable net play, and spin on the bandeja.
  • Notes limited ball exit when defending and that it punishes off-centre hits.
  • Player reviews are mixed on power from the back of the court; several praise a wide sweet spot for a diamond.

Padelshop (Vertex 04 vs 05)

  • Calls the 05 an 'intelligent refinement' of the 04.
  • Describes it as faster and more dynamic, with a more reactive face.

Questions

Is the Vertex 05 Geo or the Vertex 05 W the same racket?

No. Bullpadel sells other versions under the Vertex 05 name, such as the Geo (Pablo Cardona's version) and the W (Delfi Brea's women's version), and each has its own specs. This review covers Juan Tello's standard Vertex 05. Check the exact version and year before you buy.

Is the Bullpadel Vertex 05 good for intermediate players?

Only for intermediates with solid technique who already finish points overhead. Its high balance and diamond shape punish mishits. Most intermediates will do better with a teardrop.

What's the difference between the Vertex 05 and Vertex 04?

The 05 has a reshaped core, a bigger frame twist and a more open carbon weave, so it's quicker and more reactive; the 04 feels firmer and has one more weight position. See Vertex 04 vs Vertex 05.

How heavy is the Vertex 05?

Bullpadel lists 365–375 g with high balance, so it feels heavier in the head than its weight suggests.

Who uses the Bullpadel Vertex?

It's Juan Tello's signature racket.
