Our verdict

The Counter Veron is a round control racket from Babolat's 2026 Counter line. Babolat lists it at 365 g ± 10 g with a 270 mm balance, a Black EVA core and a Carbon Flex face. Independent reviewers rate its control, sweet spot and manoeuvrability highly and its smash power lower.

It's our best for intermediates: the easiest step up from a beginner racket, with more pop than fibreglass but the same forgiving round head. Players who finish most points overhead will want a teardrop or diamond.

Best for: players in their second or third year who want more pop without losing control.

Avoid if: you want maximum smash power: it's built for control.

Questions

Is the Babolat Counter Veron good for beginners?

It's forgiving enough, but a lighter fibreglass racket like the Counter Vertuo is easier in your first year. The Veron suits players who already hit the ball cleanly.

What's the difference between the Counter Veron and Counter Vertuo?

Same core and frame. The Veron has a Carbon Flex face and weighs about 15 g more, so it gives more pop. See Counter Veron vs Counter Vertuo.

Is the Counter Veron a power racket?

No. It's a round control racket. It gives a little more ball speed than fibreglass rackets but isn't built for big smashes.

How heavy is the Babolat Counter Veron?

Babolat lists 365 g ± 10 g with a 270 mm balance.
